Metalfiori Necklaces
These necklaces feature different metal tubes set in resin and/or grains of glass in metal tubes set in resin, a technique I call "metalfiori,” an allusion to the appearance of Italian millefiori glass. I use twelve colors of glass grains to create the designs. Each grain is set by hand. Venetian glass, tiles and mirrors and other glass design elements are used also. Clear and color resins are used and finished in a glossy or matte surface.

The settings are aluminum, contoured in endless ways and finished in a variety of textures.

Faceted Gem Necklaces
These necklaces feature faceted gemstones. The prong setting technique I invented for these gemstone pieces provides maximum light to the stone and a completely new look. The prongs are stainless steel with a notch that fits on the girdle and provides sturdy mount that can be undone if needed to replace or repair the stone. In tube setting, the mount is entirely lathe-turned and the gem opening established. The gem is held by a lathe-turned tube inserted from behind.

Carved Gemstone Necklaces
Prongs, spider-mounts, cup-mounts, and adhesives constitute the setting techniques for these gemstone pieces. Cabochons are adhered into machined recesses or to a spider-mounted pad. The settings are aluminum, contoured in endless ways and finished in a variety of textures.

Natural Crystal Necklaces
These necklaces feature natural crystals, fossils, druzy, and gems in their natural matrix. Spider-mounts, recessed mounts, cup mounts, vertical prongs, rods, and adhesives comprise the setting techniques. Cabochons and flat-sided elements are adhered into machined recesses or to a spider-mounted pad. The settings are aluminum, contoured in endless ways and finished in a variety of textures.

Mineral Necklaces
The pinch-mount setting technique I invented for some of these pieces provides maximum light to the stone and a completely new 3-D look with the stone extended beyond the setting. Polished interior surfaces create interesting “House of Mirrors” effects on shiny minerals. Spider-mounts provide a hidden pad to which flat back components are adhered. The rods and prongs are stainless steel.

The settings are aluminum, contoured in endless ways and finished in a variety of textures.

Glass Necklaces
These necklaces feature all forms of glass–beads, seed beads, grains, dichroic, lamp-worked, and faceted. Screw mounting, wire mounting and adhesives constitute the setting techniques for these glass pieces. Drilled glass is mounted on a wire. Cabochons or flat-sided items are adhered into machined recesses or to a metal pad. The settings are aluminum, contoured in endless ways and finished in a variety of textures.

Plastic Necklaces
These pieces feature lathe-turned plastic either in the natural raw color or hand-colored and sealed with a flexible coating. The tendrils are part of the cutting process and are left on some pieces as a design motif. The plastic is flexible and very strong, but intentionally folding will make a crease and crack the color and coating. Glass and other plastic elements augment the hand-made ones. The components are threaded onto a coil of nickel silver which will slide along the cord and stay in an asymmetrical position. Many of the designs can be changed by putting the clasp on the opposite side.
